In 2009, Groupon was a seven-person team working out of a tiny Chicago office. In preparation for testing in San Francisco - the first city outside of Chicago to receive the now ubiquitous deal-a-day emails, we upgraded their site from a WordPress blog to a full-fledged site designed to offer a top-notch user experience. Within a week of launch, Groupon registered an 800% increase in sales. In just four months, their staff grew to 100. By 2012, Forbes Magazine announced that Groupon - by then numbering 4,000 employees worldwide - was the fastest growing company ever.
